One Perfect Day: A Sample Yokai Bon Odori Itinerary

Tachikawa has more going on than just the festival — here's one way to spend a full day around it.

AM
Showa Kinen Park. One of the Tokyo area's largest public parks sits a short ride from Tachikawa Station — a relaxed way to spend the morning before the festival gets going in the evening.
PM
Lunch and a look around Tachikawa Station. The station area has a wide range of casual dining, and it's a natural staging point before heading to GREEN SPRINGS.
Late PM
Costume prep. If you're using the on-site makeup booths or a cloakroom to change (see our costume guide), build in time before the ticketed area opens.
Evening
Yokai Food Village. Free entry — walk the food stalls and merchandise corner before your Yagura Stage ticket window.
Night
The Yagura Stage. Dancing, live performances, and — later in the night — the Yokai Disco DJ sets.

If You Only Have a Few Hours

Skip the park and arrive directly at GREEN SPRINGS in the late afternoon: walk the free Yokai Food Village first, then move into the ticketed area once it opens. This compresses comfortably into a single evening out from central Tokyo.

Before You Go

Double-check opening times and any final details on the official site closer to your visit, since exact hours are usually finalized nearer the event.
